About this blog.

As a vegan and lover of food, Tahini is one of my favourite foods. I’d call it the the cornerstone of my kitchenIt’s a love-food to me. It gives me romantic, gushy feelings, like those I get from mango or chocolate.

I regularly enjoy a simple, lime and tahini sauce on apples, mangoes, bananas, salads, carrots, sandwiches, in wraps, on nachos and more. I can’t get enough.

I successfully wooed more than one lover with my tahini sauce and I love food.

As such, I’ve decided to share my secrets with the world.

Like any busy, working parent, who has a bunch of scrawled kitchen notes you’ll notice sometimes I don’t include quantities, and as such, when I omit quantities you just have to taste as you go along until the texture and flavour appeals to you.

My food focuses on cooking from scratch because – honestly – that’s the cheapest kind of food you can get. I aim for inexpensive, hearty, homestyle cooking that is low in fat, low in sugar, sometimes raw and always vegan.

Sometimes I’ll venture beyond food as I’m rather enthusiastic about home economics, but I’ll try to keep this blog food focused.

I hope you enjoy what my kitchen serves up.

♥ Jess

P.S. I’m based in a country where we use the metric system. So if you see an extra ‘u’ floating about, or a ‘s’ where you think a ‘z’ should naturally be, please do not be alarmed. It is not my fault. Take it up directly with the Queen.

Hi Jess, I just wanted to let you know that the link on the word “vegan” above doesn’t work and also the link to interview with Peter Singer on the page “responsible living”…
